Subject: Race report Putnam Park 5 / 3-4

I have been preparing for this season since last November. I don't think
the bikes went for a 3 day period without me turning a wrench. I started
some personal training about 3 months ago consisting of stationary bike, sit
ups, Weight Watchers diet, and just recently running. I am proud to say I
am 28 lbs lighter than I was in February.

Erin, a few other guys and myself went to Putnam 4/12 for SBTT and I got in
some good laps on the SV and the GIXXER. This was much needed practice as I
remembered I needed to work out my outer thighs for the up coming races.

After our Friday night routine stop at H(*)(*)TERS in Dayton we got to the
gate at Midnight and camped. I slept for a total of 4 hours all night.

This weekend I started on pole for my LW Solo 20, LWT Twins, and F2. HWT
Twins gave me a middle front row start.

LW SOLO 20 - I drag raced Shannon Anderson to turn one, she is a 120 lb bean
pole and beat me off the line. Somewhere around turn 3 - 4 I made the pass
for the lead and started my assault to find lapped traffic. It wasn't too
long I was seeing orange shirts and making passes. My boyz in the pits were
signaling the WIDE GAP sign. I started to see some familiar tail sections
from last year and kept up the assault. By the end I had lapped up to 5th
place. 1ST PODIUM.

C SUPERSTOCK - Not much to say here. The GIXXER is for practice to make me
faster on the SV. I started in the middle of the second wave. There were
three waves total. On the start Ben Lingel and AJ Silverman BLITZED past from behind. I tried to
keep up but the 600 boyz are out for blood in turn one. I decided I wanted
to live and lost a few spots. Through out the race I made passes and was
told I finished 8th or 9th out of 38. I didn't look at the results so I
have to wait for them to be posted on the WERA site.

F2 - This race had me working for it. Wayne Roon on a BUILT Hawk 650 was on
my ass all race. We checked out from the rest of the pack and raced for the
win. My boyz were giving me the "ON YOUR ASS" sign all race. On the last
lap I saw an orange shirt at turn 6 as I was coming out of 4. I knew he
would be trouble before the finish line. We reeled him in at turn 9, I
went low and so did the orange shirt. I had to roll off the throttle and
lost me drive. Wanye got the drive out of 10 and we drag raced to the
finish line. I worked the SV by stretching the throttle cables and beat him
for the win by 1/2 a bike length!!! 2ND PODIUM.

HWT TWINS - This race I was gridded front row middle. I was on the SV so
some of the big bikes beat me off the line. Turn one they left the door open and I made a few spots
back. Most of the race I was in 3rd. Second place went off the track in
turn 1 and let me move up. It was a constant pass me down the straight,
pass'em back in turn one. I finished 2nd. 3RD PODIUM.

LWT TWINS - At the beginning it was dry. I started on the pole in the novice wave but
caught some experts in turn one. I made it through about 3 -4 experts in
the first few laps. Seeing the 'Wide gap' signal I was feeling pretty good.
THEN IT STARTED TO RAIN. The 207 I picked for just this occasion worked
well with its tread all the way to the side of the tire. I slowed down and
tried to be smooth but still had some slides out of turn 2 and turn 4. On
lap 7 expert Tristan passed me back going into the Bus Stop turn 7. I
followed for the next lap. Exiting the bus stop turn on the last lap
Tristan looked back to see where I was. The next thing I remember is his
bike doing the tango, without Tristan. Tris went over the high side and
some how was doing a pirouette down the short straight with the bike. I was
on the brakes to miss them when I should have been on the gas heading for
Dead Bear. Pete, a team member, saw everything from behind me and was
planning his outside pass through Dead Bear. I had no idea he was even
behind me. I looked out of the corner of my eye while leaned over in the left
hand, up hill turn to see his elbow about 3/8" from mine. I did not want to
give it more throttle and risk a spin taking both of us out. He made the
pass. Through turn 9 and 10 I was looking for a red flag as I knew Tristan
was laying in the track. No red flad UNTIL we got to the start finish line.
WHEW!! Thank God for the rules. Red flag at the end meant scoring back to
the previously completed lap. I WON!!!!! 4TH PODIUM.

A great way to start the season. I am taking the engine out of the SV to
wring a few more ponies out of it for Grattan. I don't know the track so I
am going to need it.

The rest of the Pure Sports Designs team had some GREAT results too. A total of 18 Podiums!!!!
